BLUE MOUNTAIN HALL
The Blue Mountain Hall
For more than 6000 years ago a massive stone avalanche fell down from the Blue Mountain, and huge boulders and stones landed on the mountain side. Now these boulders surround Melkevoll Bretun where we have cabins and a nature camping every summer season. At one of the viewpoints and with one of the biggest boulders serving as the main wall, Inge Melkevoll created this unique indoor space made of stone, wood and glass, with views of the glacier, the mountains and a huge waterfall. The Blue Mountain Hall, “Blåfjellshallen" in Norwegian, is built in harmony with nature and the surrounding areas.
THE BLUE MOUNTAIN HALL
Johanne have had yoga classes on the loft at Melkevoll Bretun´s reception since 2010. Frank and Johanne had their first yogaretreat here in the summer 2015.
Inge, Johanne´s father, had for a long time been dreaming about creating something in the area of huge boulders around Melkevoll Bretun.
In 2018 our dreams came together; Inge´s dream to build a beautiful building in between the stones, and Frank & Johanne´s dream to create a space in nature for yoga, retreats, art and courses. A place to rest in nature, and to come home in ourselves.
Together with Bogdan and Leszek, Inge built this hall in the winter 2017 and summer 2018.
Right before Frank and Johanne´s daughter Alva was born, the Blue Mountain Hall was also born. Since then we have lived and shared here, and we are incredible grateful for this opportunity to invite you into this nature and to recharge, learn and explore in this space.
