The Blue Mountain Hall
Our magical nature space
For more than 6000 years ago a massive stone avalanche fell down from the Blue Mountain “Blåfjellet”, and huge boulders and stones landed on the side of the mountain. Now these boulders surround Melkevoll Bretun.
In this area we have our cabins and a nature camping every summer season.
At one of the viewpoints and with one of the biggest boulders serving as the main wall, Inge Melkevoll created this unique indoor space made of stone, wood and glass, with views of the glacier, the mountains and a huge waterfall.
The Blue Mountain Hall, “Blåfjellshallen" in Norwegian, is built in harmony with nature and the surrounding areas.
The Blue Mountain Hall
In the Blue Mountain Hall we open for music concerts, choirs, various events as well as classes, courses and retreats. We are currently not open for hosting guest teachers or retreats apart from our returning teachers that has been with us for the last ten years.
The Hall was created
Since 2010 Johanne held yoga classes at the loft at Melkevoll Bretun´s reception.
Frank and Johanne had their first yoga retreat here in the summer 2015.
Inge, Johanne´s father, had for a long time been dreaming about creating something in the area of huge boulders around Melkevoll Bretun.
In 2018 our dreams came together; Inge´s dream to build a spectacular building in between the stones, and Frank & Johanne´s dream to create a space in nature for yoga, retreats, music and courses. A place to rest in nature, and to come home in ourselves.
Together with Bogdan and Leszek Wasilweski from Poland, Inge built this hall in the winter 2017 and summer 2018.
Right before Frank and Johanne´s daughter was born, the Blue Mountain Hall was also born.
The Blue Mountain Hall has a special atmosphere as it is held and integrated by nature.
We welcome you to come and attend our classes and courses to experience the magic here.
